Jody Tompson sits on the Brixey & Meyer Board of Advisors.

George H. (Jody) Tompson is a professor of management and entrepreneurship in the Sykes College of Business at The University of Tampa. Before arriving in Tampa in 2000, he was a Senior Lecturer in the Waikato Management School in Hamilton, New Zealand. He primarily teaches MBA and undergrad courses in strategic management. His administrative role is the Director of the Naimoli Institute for Business Strategy (www.ut.edu/Naimoli) where he recruits about 15 local companies per year to participate in the Strategic Analysis Program with MBA students for a semester.

In the past few years, he has co-authored several academic articles on strategic alliances. He is also the author of a textbook titled How Strategy Works and a book of case studies on 13 Tampa companies called Tampa Trailblazers: Case Studies in Innovation & Growth.
He has a PhD from the University of South Carolina and a BS double major in finance and English from Trinity University (Texas).

He is also on the board of directors of Field Forensics, Inc. Jody is married to Holly Tompson, Director of Coaching Services at Landit, Inc. They have 3 adult children, aged 31, 28, and 25.
